Schools Neighbourhood Renewal Fund

For the last five years, Local Leagues was funded £90k a year through NRF to address the twin issues of ‘worklessness’, and ‘the health and wellbeing of young people through sport’.
Through our engagement work with the unemployed (mostly young people), we managed to encourage 194 people into employment, 243 NEET (16 to 18) young people back into education through NRF and through other funding streams.
A pilot programme as run to train women to become fitness instructors where we trained 12 local women to RSA level 2 Exercises To Music course, of which 5 of these women now work as sessional instructors in fitness centre charging up to £25 per hour. Two of these women now work in local schools providing fitness for sessions for PE lessons.
Volunteer Sessions
There were 16 volunteer led sessions at Clifton, St Chads, Chandos, Christchurch, Conway, Montgomery, Raddlebarn with an average of 12 pupils per session. All coaches and volunteers are trained and CRB checked.
