Stanhope Youth Centre

(24th July – 17th August 2006)
Stanhope averaged 20 people per day during the 4 weeks of activities, It is a safe environment where parents were always welcome to walk in and find their children.
The activities we decided to offer the young people included:
- Cooking for boys and girls to illustrate how cooking is not just a girl’s activity;
- Playstation tournament with the winners receiving trophies and certificates;
- Table-tennis tournament with prizes;
- Videos between 3pm and 4pm as a ‘Wind Down’ hour after the activities;
- Table-football tournament;
- Trip to Blackpool;
- Snooker tournament.
Playstation Tournament
(31st July 2006)
The Playstation tournament was a hit. Young people between the ages of 7 – 19 participated in the tournament which began at 12.00pm and finished at 3.30pm. The winners received trophy’s.
Table-Tennis Tournament
(10th August 2006)
A table-tennis tournament was held which proved to be very successful and very popular. The day was finished with a video as a relaxation method.
Table-Football Tournament
(17th August 2006)
A table-football tournament saw 31 young people taking part and it was also really popular. Prizes were awarded on the day, which ran smoothly bar one person receiving a red-card for disruptive behaviour.
Snooker / Pool Tournament
A snooker and pool tournament was organised by Zack Deeming, in which Zack took part and won.
Blackpool Trip
A trip to Blackpool was arranged for the day and proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all.
