Farm Park Summary
Farm Park’s attendance had been quite varied over the last few Summer Schemes, mainly due to the fact that the young people living within the Farm Park area already made limited use of the facilities.
Setting up quality facilities like goal posts with nets, referees etc.., encouraged greater participation changed. As with all budding football stars, these participants also loved watching the football hit the back of the net rather than going through a couple of makeshift ‘posts’ and ending up halfway down the field.
Overall the number of children registered weren’t as good as they could have been and we needed to perhaps utilise different techniques. The coaches were familiar with most the children that were registered as most of them attend our under-14’s football league on a Saturday, but for future we would need to attract more young people from the area and involve them more fully.
Total number of beneficiaries registered for the five weeks: 46
Average number of participants per session: 19
Total number of hours of activity during the five weeks: 15 hrs

Conclusion
The two parks were a success and a definite improvement on previous Summer Schemes with Sparkhill Park having great turnouts bringing new children onto the Local Leagues register. We continue to work with these young people whether it is in their schools or through our weekend football leagues. The Summer Scheme at these venues helped lay the foundation for sport within both parks, and with both venues being thorough successes, we can only get better the more we work within them.
