Twenty20 Final at Warwickshire County Cricket Club

Local Leagues Ltd , in partnership with Calthorpe Pavilion (Zhor Malik) of Birmingham City Council made it a dream come true for local Cricket teams by staging a Twenty20 Final at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

The two teams who made it to the final out of 12 teams participating were Local Leagues Cricket Club and YMF Cricket Club.

YMF CC won the toss and elected to field. Local Leagues CC had the worst start possible by losing their captain to the first ball of the match; they recovered to respectable score of 142 all out in 19.3 overs, mainly thanks to Nadeem (Bijli) scoring 27, Shakib 38, and Naveed 24.

Afzal and Nagman both took 2 wickets a piece for YMF CC.

YMF CC lost 2 quick wickets in the chase but consequently resulted in a brilliant partnership between their opener and man of the match Ghulam Abass (65 not out) and Ishaq (38). Ishaq was brilliantly run out from a direct throw from the boundary.

Aided by some poor fielding from Local Leagues CC, YMF CC won the match easily with 24 balls to spare and 5 wickets down.
