Following the success of Fit4Sport in the summer of 2006, we have decided to run the event again this term.

We are running Fit4Sport for girls in years 5-7 on Friday 23rd March at Nechells Community Sports Centre.
The aim of the day is to introduce concepts of healthy living to the girls and to give them an opportunity to play a variety of sports with other girls. Activities will include netball, tag rugby, football and aerobics.

The day will begin at 10:00am and end at 3:30pm. We will provide drinks and fruit for refreshments but ask that the girls bring a packed lunch with them, and also that a teacher accompanies them for the day. We will be able to help with transport if required.

Local Leagues endeavours to actively promote social inclusion within communities that are often excluded from mainstream activities. Local Leagues aims to involve young people from within their own communities in breaking the barriers of race, colour gender, disability and social class through integration.

Schools are being invited from the Sparkbrook, Sparkhill, Bordesley Green and Aston area. Each school will bring up to 10 girls and one member of staff and it will be a great chance for girls to play competitively against each other and for teachers to meet one another. All the girls will receive a t-shirt and certificate at the end of the day and there will be other awards presented.

If you would like to participate please contact the Sports Development Supervisor and I will send you more details nearer the event. We will only be able to accept the first 12 schools that respond.
